Today's special guest is the founder of Public Safety Preservation. Gray Reed founded this non-profit to raise awareness about mental health and suicide prevention among first responders. He did it because he was moved by his work. For the sake of his family and himself, he was diagnosed with cumulative P T S D.
He had to resign from his position as a corrections officer. He spent some time in law enforcement, but most of his time was spent in corrections. And we're going to take a look at what it's like to be a prison officer. Because I don't believe we've ever properly presented the picture of what happens inside those prison walls. We'll also discuss how he received therapy, specifically EMDR, and how that benefited him.
